There’s nothing like nature to lift your mood and shift your whole day into a better place. It doesn’t have to be much. Maybe it’s a garden bird singing its heart out somewhere nearby, or a quick, thrilling glimpse of an urban fox. That’s why I’m so delighted to bring you this issue’s cover story, which celebrates the Trust’s Window to the Wild initiative.

Rangers and film-makers have sensitively placed hidden cameras into nestboxes, seal colonies, beaver habitats and more, streaming the footage online. Along with thousands of other captivated online viewers, I’ve watched, entranced, as eggs hatched, babies consumed vast quantities of snacks delivered by tireless parents, chicks fledged and beavers … sneezed?
